The special exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic, ‘Siri Dalada Wandanawa’, concludes today (27) at the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, with large crowds still gathering for veneration.
The exposition, which runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., has drawn hundreds of thousands of devotees since it began.
Many individuals and groups have offered Dansal and other facilities to support the devotees waiting in long queues.
This year’s Siri Dalada Wandanawa marks the first public exposition of the Sacred Relic in 16 years.
Accordingly, a city-wide cleanliness program in Kandy, led by Central Province Chief Secretary Ajith Premasinghe, is being launched today to manage the aftermath of the large crowds.
